SUPPLY WASTE NYLON AND POLYTHENE MATERIALS TO LOCAL INDUSTRIES IN NIGERIA AND MAKE HUGE PROFIT

Recycling is an economic development tool as well as an environmental tool. Reuse, recycling, and waste reduction offer direct development opportunities for communities. When collected with skill and care, and upgraded with quality in mind, discarded materials are a local resource that can contribute to local revenue, job creation, business expansion, and the local economic base.

The raw materials are never in short supply as Lagos is known for its huge generation of waste. From figures available from LAWMA, 9,000 metric tonnes of waste is generated daily with about 1,200 metric tonnes being converted into other uses. This create room for the establishment of recycling plants in Lagos and indeed other states of the federation.

The investor can start the business through the following ways

1. Supplier/ Collector
2. Collection Center Operator
3. Recycler

As a supplier/ collector, the investor collect waste polythene materials from different sources and supplies to the collection center operator who processes the material and sell to the recycler.

The recycler recycles the product and make useful to the plastic industries to use.
Waste plastic materials can be divided into two broad categories namely

1. Low Density
2. High Density

Low-density polyethylene (LDPE) is a thermoplastic made from petroleum and is commonly recycled and has the number "4" as its recycling symbol. LDPE is defined by a density range of 0.910–0.940 g/cm3.

It is not reactive at room temperatures, except by strong oxidizing agents, and some solvents cause swelling.

It can withstand temperatures of 80 °C continuously and 95 °C for a short time. Made in translucent or opaque variations, it is quite flexible, and tough but breakable. Examples of low density material are pure water sachets and cellophanes bags.

High-density polyethylene (HDPE) or polyethylene high-density (PEHD) is a polyethylene thermoplastic made from petroleum. It takes 1.75 kilograms of petroleum (in terms of energy and raw materials) to make one kilogram of HDPE. HDPE is commonly recycled, and has the number "2" as its recycling symbol. . An example of high density material is the one used in packaging pure water sachets.

It is important to state that not all plastic is considered economically viable by processor.
Below is the list of materials accepted in the recycling business

Shopping Bags
Laundry Bags
Pure Water Sachets
Yogurt Wrappers
Soft Poly Bags
Hospital Drip Bags
Pop Corn Wrapper
Bread Wrapper
Cellophane

Below is the list of materials NOT accepted in the recycling business

Indomie Noodles wrapper
Detergent Bags
Biscuit Wrappers

SUPPLY BARITE ORE TO LOCAL INDUSTRIES IN NIGERIA AND MAKE HUGE PROFIT.

The name barite is derived from the Greek baryos meaning heavy or heavy spar .Barite occur in numerous colors; white, brown, yellow, red and gray are most common. The colors are the result of impurities such as iron, strontium and lead, and mineral contaminants such as clay and sand. Barite is insoluble in water and is resistant to acid attack.

Barite ore is an important industrial mineral that is used as a weighing agent in drilling mud by oil producing companies in the oil and gas industry. The quality of barite ore measured based on the specific gravity {S.G} of the product and a specific gravity of 4.2 and above is generally preferred.

Nigeria has an estimated reserve of over two million {2,000,000} metric tonnes of barite ore scattered in different parts of the country to include Benue, Nassarrawa, Plateau and Cross River states.

Barite ore just like any other industrial mineral requires processing and the basic process of processing is collection, particle reduction and packaging. Barite ore is ground to a range of products of the different sizes needed for the variety of applications. Most commercially available products are 200 or 325 mesh, or finer, down to a few microns. The ore is selected and the process is controlled for one or more of the following properties: color, particle size, specific gravity and bulk density.

Nigeria being the sixth largest exporter of crude oil in the world, as an established, sustainable and growing market for barite ore in Nigeria.

Barite ore though locally available used to be imported into the country until the government placed a ban on the importation of the product in order to encourage the local industry.

The recent enactment of the Nigeria oil and gas industry content development Act meant to encourage the participation of indigenous firms in the oil and gas industry has certainly opened a lot of investment opportunities and particularly for the supply of barite ore to local processors in Nigeria. The Act specifically imposes an obligation for the maintenance of a required Nigerian content level on all subsequent contracts and agreement carried out by companies operating in the Nigerian oil and gas industry.

The return on investment in the supply of barite ore in Nigeria is estimated at between 10%- 15%.

SUPPLY MAIZE TO LOCAL INDUSTRIES IN NIGERIA AND MAKE HUGE PROFIT.

Maize, also known as corn, is one of the most extensively cultivated cereal crops on Earth. More maize is produced, by weight, than any other grain, and almost every country on Earth cultivates maize commercially for a variety of uses.

Maize is used as a nutritional source for livestock as well as humans. It has also been used for fuel.

Maize (Zea mays, L.) is a staple food of great socio-economic importance in the Sub-Saharan Africa of which Nigeria is inclusive with per capital kg/year of 40. Nigeria has an annual maize production in excess of 7 million metric tons. In terms of volume produced, maize is the third most important cereal grown in Nigeria after sorghum and millet. It comes after wheat and rice in terms of world importance.

The total land area planted to maize in Nigeria is above 2.5 million hectares with an estimated yield of about 1.4 metric tonnes per hectare.

However, the unfolding performance of maize can be attributed to the fact that the bulk of the country’s farm, over 90% is dependent on subsistence agriculture (small holder farmers) with rudimentary farm system, low capitalization and low yield per hectare. Moreover, price fluctuation, diseases and pest, poor storage facilities and efficiency of resource utilization are the identified problems of low maize production in Nigeria.

The situation highlighted above has lead to a deficit in supply of maize which current stands at about 8.5 million tonnes annually to the 7 million tones being supplied annually. This is a seller’s market and an opportunity for savvy investors to take position.

The demand for maize in Nigeria is been fueled by the continuous grown been witnessed in the poultry and beverage sectors where they are used as raw materials.

The project involves the buying/sourcing of maize from farmers, packaging and selling same to livestock feed producers and beverage producers.

Maize is produced in virtually all the states in Nigeria, though some states produce more than others.

Some of states that maize is produced in large quantity in Nigeria includes Plataeu, Kano, Kaduna, Sokoto, Gombe, Bauchi, Zamfara, Benue, Kogi , Nassarawa and Taraba.
With N 1,500,000 and depending on the season, an investor can start the business of supplying maize to local industries in Nigeria.

The return on investment on the trading of maize is estimated between 10 %- 15%. In order to encourage the growth of local industries in Nigeria, the government placed a ban on the export of maize in Nigeria.

NIOBIUM ORE EXPORT IN NIGERIA; NON-OIL EXPORT OPPORTUNITY SERIES.

The mining of minerals in Nigeria accounts for only 0.3% of its GDP, due to the influence of its vast oil resources. The domestic mining industry is underdeveloped, leading to Nigeria having to import minerals that it could produce domestically, such as salt or iron ore. Rights to ownership of mineral resources is held by the Nigerian government, which grants titles to organizations to explore, mine, and sell mineral resources.

About 34 minerals deposits have been identified in Nigeria and one of such is Niobium ore.

Niobium Ore (Nb2O5) is used principally as an additive to improve the strength and corrosion resistance of steel. Due to its refractive nature, it has gained application in jet engine components manufacture, rocket assemblies, and heat resisting and combustion equipment.

Niobium, like tantalum, can act as an electrolytic valve allowing alternating current to pass in only one direction through an electrolytic cell. Niobium is used in arc-welding rods for stabilized grades of stainless steel. It is also used in advanced air frame systems. Superconductive magnets are made with Nb-Zr wire, which retains superconductivity in strong magnetic fields. Niobium is used in lamp filaments and to make jewelry. It is capable of being colored by an electrolytic process.

Because of the numerous uses of Niobium ore, great demand exist for the commodity.

Large deposits of Niobium ore are known to occur in Nasarawa, Gombe, Plateau and Kogi States as well as the Federal Capital Territory. The deposits are both alluvial and primary in the numerous pegmatite bodies that infest these areas.

The return on investment on the export of niobium ore is estimated between 10%- 15%.
