Before the advent of GSM {Global System Mobile}technology in Nigeria much of the nations population was without access to telecommunication and those were fortunate to have telecommunications services suffer serious service interruptions due to constant vandalization of operational equipments amongst other reasons.
However, the introduction of GSM technology in 2001 not increased the subscriber base from under five million {5,000,000} to over seventy million {70,000,000} but also created a market for GSM phone accessories.
