WINDSCREEN REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT BUSINESS IN NIGERIA.

One major achievement of the present civilian administration in Nigeria in the past eleven (11) years has been the development and growth of middle class citizens which has been witnessed in the country. These growths continue to drive the increasing demand for non essential products like cars to reflect their new found social class.

Though there is no definite figure as to the number of cars and vehicles in Nigeria, figures seem to suggest anything between 10,000,000 – 15,000,000 units mostly of second hand sources {Tokunbo}. With the 2007 census figure putting the country’s population at over 140,000,000 growing at 3.5 % per annum and the economic growth rate of the country growing at 5.7% in the past five years, Nigeria certainly has a large, expanding and sustainable market not just for car but also for repairing and replacement of damaged windscreen which we seek to exploit.

Windshield repair is a process that combines modern technology and skill to fill a damaged area on a windshield with special clear adhesive resin. When this resin is cured the damaged area's strength is restored, as is most of the clarity.

Repairing a damaged windshield makes sense for several reasons. Repairs save money by preventing the need for costly replacement, and is very convenient taking only a few minutes. Repairs are also safe, as the glass is never removed and the original factory seal is maintained. Over 60% of all replacement is installed incorrectly which results in interior damage, leakage, wind noise and rust.

Windscreen repairs in Nigeria also make a lot of sense because of the economic situation of the country. Also due to the fact that most of the car/vehicle in the country is second hand, it means that competition from the car dealers would be less because the cars in question where not bought through them ,a situation that would have given them the opportunity to offer after sales services to the car owners.

The services would useful to transportation companies, corporate offices, car hire services, insurance companies and second hand car dealers.

Windscreen stopper has the ability to repair damaged windscreens depending on the size of the crack and time of exposure. Windscreen crack stopper has a restoration liquid that helps to seal up cracked parts on windscreens. After assessing the level of damage on the windscreen to be irredeemable, replace the windscreen of the effect car/vehicle should be carried out.

There are companies in Nigeria where one can get training on how to repair and replace windscreens in Nigeria and all these would be stated in the business plan.
